Shocking: Normolle is embroiled in controversy after recording a podcast criticizing a colleague on a reality TV show, leading to a sudden on-air firing by Ryan.

Ryan Serhant is getting real about Jonathan Normolleโ€™s firing in the โ€œOwning Manhattanโ€ Season 1 finale.ย

The Serhant. Real Estate founder, 40, tells Page Sixโ€™s โ€œVirtual Reali-Teaโ€ podcast that he finds Normolleโ€™s claim that he planned his own termination from the agency farfetched.ย

Serhant quipped, โ€œI havenโ€™t publicly commented. All Iโ€™ll say is I donโ€™t fault anyone these days for trying to control their own narrative. Itโ€™s like the facts were on a global Netflix TV show.โ€

โ€œWhen clients come on the show, they say, โ€˜I want to be on, but donโ€™t make me look bad,โ€™โ€ he explains. โ€œI tell them, โ€˜Then donโ€™t say anything that makes you look bad.โ€™โ€

Normolle, 27, sparked drama on the Netflix reality show, which premiered last month.ย

He and fellow Serhant real estate agent Jessica โ€œJessโ€ Markowski recorded a podcast episode, during which Normolle made vicious judgments about several of their colleagues. Markowski, 31, participated in the conversation, but her comments were notably less harsh.

As seen in the final episode of โ€œOwning Manhattan,โ€ Serhant confronted Normolle about the situation on top of The Edge at New York Cityโ€™s Hudson Yards and ultimately gave him the pink slip as cameras rolled.ย

โ€œItโ€™s so awkward. It wasnโ€™t my intent,โ€ the โ€œMillion Dollar Listing New Yorkโ€ alum recalls to โ€œVirtual Reali-Tea.โ€ย

โ€œI donโ€™t hire people with the intent to fire them,โ€ he continues. โ€œI didnโ€™t hire any of the agents โ€” who are actual real estate agents, who are actually at our company โ€” with the intent to let them go. That was super uncomfortable.โ€

Normolle, for his part, claimed in a recent interview with the Daily Mail that he was the mastermind behind his own firing, further boasting that Serhant fell into his trap.ย

โ€œIf I donโ€™t act like a CEO, then Iโ€™ll lose all the good people and thatโ€™s a tough lesson for me to learn,โ€ says the โ€œBrand It Like Serhantโ€ author, who oversees a team of roughly 750.ย

Ryan Serhant is not holding back when it comes to discussing Jonathan Normolleโ€™s controversial firing in the Season 1 finale of โ€œOwning Manhattan.โ€ Despite Normolleโ€™s claims that he orchestrated his own termination from the agency, Serhant finds the idea hard to believe. In a recent interview on Page Sixโ€™s โ€œVirtual Reali-Teaโ€ podcast, Serhant made it clear that he doesnโ€™t buy into Normolleโ€™s narrative. Reflecting on the situation, Serhant emphasized the importance of controlling oneโ€™s own narrative in todayโ€™s media landscape. With the rise of social media and reality TV, individuals often feel the need to carefully manage their image. Serhant likened the situation to a global Netflix show, where facts can be manipulated and perceptions can be shaped. The drama unfolded on the Netflix reality show when Normolle and fellow agent Jessica โ€œJessโ€ Markowski recorded a podcast episode filled with controversial remarks about their colleagues. While Markowskiโ€™s comments were more tempered, Normolleโ€™s opinions were harsh and critical. The tension came to a head in the final episode, where Serhant ultimately decided to part ways with Normolle.Looking back on the incident, Serhant admitted that the situation was uncomfortable and not something he had anticipated. As the founder of Serhant Real Estate, Serhant emphasized that his intention is never to hire someone with the intention of firing them. However, he acknowledged that sometimes difficult decisions need to be made in order to maintain the integrity of the company.Normolle, on the other hand, has claimed that he orchestrated his own firing as a strategic move. In a recent interview, he boasted about outsmarting Serhant and playing the role of the mastermind. Despite the drama, Serhant remains focused on leading his team of roughly 750 individuals and ensuring that he upholds the standard of a true CEO.As we continue to provide valuable information and updates, we encourage you to follow us for more insights and motivation.
